While we routinely lift in our CrossFit classes, we offer specialized Olympic Weightlifting classes to provide instruction and coaching to our athletes, improve overall fitness, and enhance our athletes’ CrossFit performance.
Our Olympic Weightlifting class is open to CrossFit Route 7 members as well as non-members. Class is designed to meet the goals of all athletes – from beginners who are interested in learning about the sport of weightlifting, to elite lifters. Class will be structured to provide technique work for both the snatch and the clean & jerk, as well as significant accessory exercises to improve overall strength, as well as maintain longevity in the sport.
Our dedicated members have also joined together to form Dynamis Barbell Club. “Dynamis” (die-na-miss), a Greek word that means “strength, power, fortitude, the will to win,” describes our lifters well! Competing at both local and national level Olympic Weightlifting competitions, our athletes are gaining platform experience and having a blast while doing so.
Our Olympic Weightlifting program and Dynamis Barbell Club are led by Coach Kevin. Coach Kevin has been coaching and training lifters on a national level since 2016 and is a certified CrossFit Level 1 and 2 Coach, as well as a USA Weightlifting (USAW) Level 1 Sports Performance Coach and a USAW Level 2 Coach. The program is also coached by Coach Anastasia, certified as a CrossFit Level 1 and 2 Coach, as well as a Level 1 Burgener Strength Weightlifting Coach. Both Coach Kevin and Coach Anastasia have been personally trained and certified by Power Monkey Fitness’s elite weightlifting coaches, Mike Cerbus – American Open Series Champion, and Cheryl Haworth, former Olympian.
