Garrett Moberg

Coach

Garrett was born and raised in Sweden and lived in several countries before moving to the U.S. He did his first CrossFit workout in 2009, joined his first affiliate in 2010, and earned his CrossFit Level 1 in 2011 (later completing his Level 2 which he currently holds). He has coached at four gyms over six years and brings a broad athletic background that includes competitive badminton, high school soccer, track and field, cross country, and kickboxing in Japan. After graduating high school there, he trained Muay Thai in Thailand before moving to the U.S. to pursue his undergraduate degree. Garrett is also a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT-200) and previously held personal training certifications.

As an athlete, Garrett has qualified for the CrossFit Quarterfinals twice and competed in Olympic weightlifting at University Nationals and the American Open Series. In 2025, he totaled 197kg at the WSO DMV Championship as a 71kg Masters athlete to secure eligibility for upcoming national-level meets.

Outside the gym, Garrett practices yoga, is active in commercial real estate, and enjoys travel and exploring the craft cocktail scene. He also has a passion for life hacks—especially travel points and miles—and often says he feels like a walking anthology of quotes and idioms sourced from a wide range of podcasts. A staple that guides him is from Jim Rohn: “We must all suffer one of two things: the pain of discipline or the pain of regret or disappointment”. Every time we walk into the gym or take the time for a fitness pursuit it takes away from time we could be doing something else – make the disciplined choice to show up for yourself and for your health, and reap the dividends of a strong body and mind for years to come.
