Coaching with CrossFit Route 7 since June 2019.
Growing up, my passion has always been sports. I played soccer, lacrosse, wrestling, basketball, and football as a kid. I was always taught to push myself to the limit and give 100% effort no matter what. I remember as an elementary school kid pushing myself to get the physical fitness award in gym class, even staying after school so I could run the mile again. Running was a weakness, so from then I started running and haven’t stopped.
I fell in love with fitness, and since the age of 13 I have lifted very consistently, following all types of programs and methods, and learning all I could from a very knowledgeable strength coach in high school. Maybe you’re tired, or maybe you’re in a bad mood, but that doesn’t matter. Success doesn’t care, and results don’t lie. That’s what I love about fitness.
I was always better at offseason training then I was at football. I remember thinking, “darn, I wish there was a sport of that consisted of constantly varied high intensity functional fitness”. Well, maybe not exactly that thought, but competing in fitness was something that interested me. I heard about CrossFit and signed up for a beginners program at CrossFit Route 7 and quickly fell in love with it! CrossFit is so much fun, and you are rewarded for pushing yourself. If you keep showing up and working hard, you will get better!
Since then, I have competed in numerous competitions, received my CrossFit Level 1 Certification, and have been able to share my knowledge and mindset with others. Coaching is a wonderful way to improve peoples lives and there is no better feeling then watching someone improve!
