Biography
My athletic career basically started in high school when I played offensive and defensive tackle on our freshman football team at Langley High School. Not because I was strong, but because I was fat and slow and that’s where those kids go. After two years getting my butt kicked in football, I switched my focus to Lacrosse. In Lacrosse, I worked really hard so the coaches loved me and I began really enjoying being more active. I really enjoyed the camaraderie that came along with team sports and that carried through to college and post-college when I played pick up basketball non-stop. After a while my friends got less active and I realized I didn’t have the drive or knowledge to have my own workout plan which finally led me to Crossfit…
It was in 2014 that I started Crossfit and I hated it at first. I was recovering from a surgery where I lost 40 lbs (not in a good way) and felt self conscious and awkward. I spent too much of the first couple years focused on what I couldn’t do, but it’s 10 years later and I love the constant challenge and being able to see how much I’ve grown and continue to grow. Most importantly, it’s made me be able to do everything I’ve wanted to do and more with my kids and all of their friends. You think 11 ft is high for a wall ball? You should see me throw a 5 year old “into the sun”! There’s nothing like being the one playing, sprinting, and wrestling with the kids — it’s that lifelong fitness that makes me excited about coaching people to be fit and capable late into life. I’m passionate about helping all of our members reach their goals – both short and long term.
I hold the following certifications:
- CrossFit Level 1 Trainer, CF-L1
