CrossFit Kids classes at CrossFit Route 7 promote fundamental functional movements, while incorporating coordination, mobility, conditioning, and free play. We offer this program to Kids (ages 8-12) 2 Saturdays per month from 10am-11am.
Our CrossFit Kids program uses a combination of skill practice, workouts and games to develop the 10 General Physical Skills, some of which include: strength, power, stamina, and balance. Our classes include elements of gymnastics such as planks, handstands, rings, and pull ups. They also include weight lifting and body weight movements such as squatting and throwing, and general conditioning elements such as running, rowing, and jump roping.
Through our program we strive to build confidence, camaraderie, good sportsmanship, teamwork, along with a healthy dose of competition while instilling a sense of independence. More than anything, we want our CrossFit Kids to build proper movement patterns, all while learning to enjoy fitness by incorporating these lessons into fun games! At CrossFit Route 7 we are dedicated to this methodology as well as the CrossFit Kids mission: Doing what is best for children.
